About Dion

Dion is a Transition Consultant at Kalavasta. He obtained both his BSc and MSc in Applied Physics cum laude at TU Eindhoven. Between these two studies, he led the student team University Racing Eindhoven for a year, working together with over fifty students to build an autonomous electric race car. For his MSc thesis, which awarded the prize for best MSc thesis of the year for the Physics faculty, Dion went to ARCNL in Amsterdam, where he afterward stayed as a PhD candidate. Dion completed his PhD on the interaction of lasers and liquid tin, which has an application in the lithography machines of ASML, over a year early in 2025.

After his PhD, Dion wanted to apply his strong technical and project management skills to an application with more direct societal impact and joined Kalavasta to work on the challenges in the energy transition.
