About Peter

Peter is Associate Partner of Kalavasta and a seasoned executive with more than 25 years of experience in the Energy and Utility industry. He currently invests in and advises companies in the field of Sustainable Energy Storage Solutions and EV-infrastructure, and is a member of the Supervisory Board of Vopak Netherlands.
After 14 years in his professional career with Shell Downstream in Europe, Peter switched to Nuon to consecutively head up the Customer Service Organisation, lead the Essent / Nuon merger and manage the Nuon Grid Services organisation. After the ownership unbundling of Nuon, Peter became the CEO of Alliander from 2009 to 2017. In those years he was also Chairman of the Dutch Grid Operator Association among other things.
Peter is an industry expert and a visionary in the field of smart energy, digitalisation and energy transition. He has initiated and led a number of innovative company and industry initiatives for new standards, market models and new business models.
Peter studied Informatics at the Delft University of Technology and holds an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. Afterwards he participated in Executive Programs of INSEAD in Fontainebleau and Singularity University in California, USA.
